DIY Recipes: Bath Salt Soaks

Bath Soak Base

All of the recipes on today’s post start with the same base. We’re also focusing on a single batch for just one bath so it’s simple to mix right before you hop in to soak. If you make large or multiple batches that are not going to be used immediately, make sure you store your bath soak in an airtight container so that moisture and evaporation don’t ruin it. The base that we are going to add essential oils to is two parts.

  • 1/2 cup of Epsom salt
  • 1 teaspoon Fractionated Coconut Oil

We’re going to aim for a 1% saturation of essential oils, so that means 24 total drops of EO according to our dilution chart. Since the entire body is going to be exposed to essential oils, it’s important to start low and test for sensitivity before increasing saturation. Adjust down by half – to 12 drops of EO – if you will be using this bath soak for children over the age of six, elderly adults, and people with sensitive skin.
